#33 A 450/400 3 1/4" N. E. Custom Sidelock Ejector with the Back-Lock Action Made by Keith Thomas, an Actioner at Purdey and was with Westley Richards. The 26" Chopper Lump Barrels were done by Arthur Smith, a barrel maker to the trade in England. The action is a Holland style back action lock with a screw grip third bite. The splinter forend with an Anson frontal release, the action body is color hardened, it is at 10 lbs. 7 oz. and was nitro proved in Birmingham, England about 2010. JJ Perodeau at Champlin Firearms then regulated it using 68 to 69 1/2 gr. of RL15, CCI 210M primer, backer rod filler, 400 gr. Woodleigh bullets and it will produce 1" to 1 1/4" accuracy at 50 yards and will do just over 2" at 100 yards. It has been shot about 90 rounds and this piece remains overall at 98% condition as finished in 2012. The bores remain as new. Here is a true custom double rifle with the total execution of an English Best Sidelock.
