Shotgun Side by Side 12 Bore $15,500.00

#14603, Holland & Holland Bar Action Sidelock Royal Ejector 12 Bore with New Barrels Installed by H&H sometime between 1959 to 1972 as the H&H address on the barrels is 13 Bruton Street, London, The barrels are London proved at 3 1/4 Tons which came about in 1954, The London proof house started using the LP mark in 1972 so this set of barrels is pre-1972 but after 1959, This toplever hammerless H&H Royal was made about 1892 and possibly with damascus barrels, These modern barrels remain like new and are 28" Ejector dovetail lump with a rib extension third bite at .727 .006 & .010" (Skt.I & Imp.Cyl.), Proved at 2 3/4" chambers, Double triggers, Splinter forend, Straight hand stock at 14 7/8 x 1 5/8 x 2 1/2" over a full face checkered butt, Slight cast-off for the right hand with the H&H swept comb from the comb to the butt, It points like a dream, Great game gun weight at 6 lbs. 8 oz., Decent wood with some color & contrast, 98% coverage of classic Royal rose & scroll engraving from this period, 99% barrel blue, 98% case colors remain that most likely was done when the barrels were added by H&H, The wood is at 94%, The checkering is at 97-98%, The piece most likely was also restocked at the time of the new barrels as you can see in our accurate photos that the internal inletting was done by an English stock maker, Internally it looks like new and totally free of any oil soak, The barrels inside and out look as new with superb striking on the outside, The barrels ring with a pronounced chime. The whole is cased in a leather trunk that most likely was added before it left the UK, it has all the cleaning accessories with it plus 3 trade labels. This is a stout uncompromising H&H Royal with both solid wood and virtually new barrels. This is exceptionally fair value with solid mechanics, wood, barrels, game gun weight and it comes to the right hand with ease.

I am not against golf, since I rather suspect it keeps armies of the unworthy from discovering Quail hunting.
