#3591, William Evans (From Purdey's) 63 Pall Mall, St. James's, London: An Evans Back Action Sidelock Extractor 12 Bore Game Gun Made in 1897 with 30" Extractor Dovetail Lump Barrels with a rib extension Dolls Head Third Bite, London Nitro Proved at 1 1/8 ounce with 2 1/2" chambers, Then in 1977 it was reproofed in London to 3 Tons with the proper reproof marks to the current barrel dimensions, The bores at .739 .011 & .028" (Imp.Cyl. & Imp.Mod.), 2 1/2" chambers, Wall thickness on the right at .025" and the left barrel at .026", Bushed strikers, Double triggers, Splinter forend with an Anson release, Straight hand stock at 14 1/2 x 1 1/2 x 2 3/8" over a checkered butt, Slight Cast-Off for the right hand, 6 lbs. 8 oz., 90% coverage of very nice scroll engraving that is well cut, No case colors remain, The barrels with fresh blue at 99% with very nice barrel striking, The buttstock and forend were re-oiled and now remains at 97%, The checkering remains at 95%, The bores are excellent, It is tight on the face, The barrels have a nice chime. This Evans is a solid working London Sidelock.
