#860, Holland & Holland, 98 New Bond Street, London: A Pre-War II H&H 240 Apex ( H&H Belted Rimless) Super Express Bolt Rifle built on a Mauser Action, Made about 1925, 23 1/4" barrel with a band island sight with 1 standing & 1 folding rear sights, Band front sight, Barrel band sling eye, Original H&H Single Lever Quick Detachable scope mounts with a 26 mm Zeiss Zielvier scope The scope is engraved with the serial number & H&H, Double set triggers, Hinged floorplate with a center bow release, London Nitro proved, It has a matted receiver ring, It has a pure classic British stock without a cheekpiece, An Engraved Trap grip cap, Point pattern checkering, 14 9/16" L.O.P. over a horn buttplate, It is 6 lbs. 15 oz. without the scope and 7 lbs. 15 oz. with the scope, This gun has an excellent bore, 99% blue on the barreled action and was professionally reblacked, The stock is 97% with what appears to be a fresh coat of oil only, the checkering is original and remains at 98%. The piece is cased in a leather trunk. It comes with 8 boxes of Kynoch ammo with 5 cartridges per box plus 80 primed Kynoch cases that all appear unfired. This is a nice rig that remains in very solid condition.
